About the role
The Events and Administration Assistant at Engineers Australia's Western Australia Division plays a key role in delivering a diverse program of events. This casual position primarily focuses on supporting and delivering STEM initiatives through school career pathway programs, working closely with participating schools and in collaboration with other professional and industry groups.
The role also involves assisting with the setup and smooth delivery of on-site and off-site events, including CPD sessions, networking functions, advocacy events and celebratory functions, managing audio-visual equipment and venue facilities. In addition, the position provides general administrative support to ensure the efficient operations of the Perth Office.
This is a casual role, requiring approximately 10 hours of work per fortnight, onsite, including evenings shifts.

This role is based in Perth, Western Australia.
In this role you will:
* Co‐ordination and delivery of STEM program within schools: presenting to school groups and answering questions from students on career pathways for engineering.
* Event Setup & Support: Co‐ordinate catering, registration, AV setup, safety procedures, and venue cleanliness.
* Technical Operations: Operate and maintain AV equipment such as microphones, PCs, and projectors during events.
* Stakeholder & Guest Engagement: Support presenters, liaise with guests, manage registrations, and assist at off‐site and outreach events.
* Administrative Tasks: Handle event reporting, volunteer database, certificates, venue liaison, and general office administration.
* Customer Service & Safety: Professionally respond to inquiries, ensure WH&S requirements are met, and maintain accurate attendance records.

* Qualifications & Experience: Studying or qualified in a relevant field, with business administration, events or hospitality experience preferred.
* Interpersonal Skills: Positive, customer‐focused, reliable, respectful, and team‐oriented.
* Communication & Professionalism: Strong verbal and written skills; remains professional, calm under pressure, and uses initiative.
* Technical Skills: Comfortable with AV equipment; proficient in Microsoft 365 with the ability to learn new systems.
* Work Ethic: Willing to support others, diligent, and capable of handling tasks independently.
* Flexibility: This role offers variety beyond the typical workday, with many events taking place in the evenings. Flexibility to attend events outside standard business hours is essential.
