Wenco International Mining Systems ( a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM), provides industry leading, innovative technologies to customers in the mining and material movement sectors, enabling sustainable and safe operations.

Reporting to the Regional Manager - Australasia, the Business Development Manager, Safety Solutions will play a key role in driving Wenco's growth across Australia, New Zealand, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia, accelerating exposure and adoption of Wenco's technology and safety solutions (i.e. SmartCap). This position is responsible for growing new client bases, deepening customer partnerships, and enhancing Wenco's brand visibility as a trusted technology and safety solutions provider.

The Business Development Manager will leverage their industry network, Wenco's market leadership, and regional strategies to identify, nurture, and close opportunities — supporting Wenco's mission of safer, smarter, and more productive mining operations. The Business Development Manager will deliver on the safety solutions commercial strategy for the Australasia region – with a primary focus on fatigue management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES

Sales, Growth, and Strategic Expansion – Safety Solutions Portfolio

* Drive and deliver annual sales, revenue, and pipeline growth targets with a strong focus on Australia/NZ, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.
* Drive regional initiatives to ensure successful deployment and ongoing support with our customers.
* Target new customer segments and expand Wenco's presence, positioning us as the partner of choice for safety solutions in mining.
* Actively develop strategies to maximize market adoption in priority regions.
* Build and utilize CRM and pipeline schedule where accurate forecasts are maintained and reported.
* Establish and maintain strong, trusting relationships with key clients, industry bodies, and internal Wenco stakeholders.
* Identify and lead initiatives to support customer adoption of health, safety, and productivity improvement solutions (i.e., fatigue management).
* Support and collaborate closely with local teams in Australia, Central Asia and Southeast Asia to strengthen regional capability, enhance customer engagement, accelerate market penetration, and ensure the successful delivery of strategic growth initiatives. Provide leadership, mentorship, and active deal support to help regional teams maximize results.

Customer Success and Brand Advocacy

* Promote a customer-centric culture and actively gather insights to tailor Wenco solutions to customer needs.
* Build a reputation as a trusted advisor through safety solution expertise, emerging industry trends insight, and proven client success.
* Support regional marketing activities, including speaking engagements, attending trade shows, and media opportunities.

Technical and Market Expertise

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Wenco products, mining processes, health and safety initiatives, and best practices.
* Understand the critical role of information technology in improving mining operations' safety, productivity, maintenance, and fleet management.
* Stay informed about competitive activities and regional market developments, providing valuable feedback to internal teams.
* Adopt and leverage Wenco's sales methodology and CRM tools for structured, transparent pipeline and forecasting management.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience and Knowledge

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Mining, Engineering, Safety, or equivalent professional experience.
* 5+ years of sales experience within mining and metallurgy or similar asset-heavy industries, services, or technology industries.
* Proven track record of selling complex technology or safety solutions into industrial or mining environments.
* Background in engineering, mining, safety, or a technology-related business strongly preferred.
* Understanding of regional mining markets in Australia/NZ, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.
* Knowledge of sleep science, fatigue risk management systems and wearable fatigue detection technologies strongly preferred.

* Highly self-motivated and independently productive with strong time management., resourceful, and proactive, while knowing when to seek collaboration and support.
* Comfortable presenting to large and diverse audiences.
* Proficient in modern business systems, CRM tools, and sales analytics.
* Ability to influence and collaborate within cross-functional teams to impact timelines and outcomes.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Holds a valid driver's license in the relevant region.

Travel Requirements

* Frequent travel (35%–50%) across Australia/NZ, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.
