**Job Description**:
As the Assistant Store Manager, you will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our Canterbury location. Your role will be hands-on, supporting staff, maintaining product standards, and creating a warm, efficient environment for customers and team members alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Support: Assist in supervising staff and daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service and team collaboration.
- Roster Support: Help manage team schedules and ensure appropriate coverage across shifts.
- Stock Coordination: Assist with stock orders, inventory tracking, and supplier communication.
- Customer Experience: Maintain the high standards of service Xocolatl is known for.
- Quality Standards: Support quality control procedures and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Training & Onboarding: Help train new and existing staff to perform at their best.
- Sales & Merchandising: Support merchandising efforts to boost sales and product presentation.
- Administrative Assistance: Help with banking, daily reports, and other store documentation as needed.
Qualification and Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail or café supervisory role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of stock and inventory processes.
- Knowledge of food safety practices.
- Barista experience is highly desirable.
- Passion for customer service and artisan chocolate.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential.
