You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver high safety and security standards while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost. We are seeking a Data Center Facility Manager to serve as a technical resource and leader within Amazon data centers. The role ensures overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels for data center operations. The Facility Manager is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center, aiming for high reliability and performance while controlling operating costs. This equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This role acts as Amazon’s front line for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. Responsibilities include maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting mission-critical data centre facility equipment including electrical support equipment (standby diesel generators and fuel systems), 3-phase electrical systems (switchgear, UPS, PDUs, batteries), and related systems. Mechanical equipment includes CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and motors. Additional support equipment includes fire suppression, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment. This position has a physical component requiring lifting and rack mounting of equipment up to 20 kg, may involve working in cramped spaces or at elevated locations, and requires adherence to health & safety guidelines. This role involves 24x7 shift rotation. Key job responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the data centre's critical physical infrastructure. Ensure that all work performed within the space is done to high quality and without impact to internal/external customers Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians in all facets of their career Engage in improvement projects, driving them from conception to completion Coordinate daily with third party vendors ensuring adherence to contracted SLAs Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures Routinely operate as the afterhours on-call Data Centre Facility Manager for the data centres in the region, including responding to issues and managing investigation, mitigation, and recovery Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-and-suitability) Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

An excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical Data Centre Operations including feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS, ATS, PDU, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and fan pack units Proven track record of people management and developing teams, ensuring staff are ready for any conditions through skill and process development Ability to solve problems at their root, understanding broader context Preferred Qualifications

Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications; Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline 5+ years of experience in data centers with emphasis on building and equipment operation 3+ years in a management position with 5+ direct reports Acknowledgement Of Country
