What you'll be doing
Hastings Deering is looking for an experienced Trades Assistant to join our Longreach Branch. In this role, you'll work alongside a dedicated team to deliver exceptional service and support to our customers. This is a Permanent, Full-time, Monday to Friday role.
Key responsibilities
* Maintain and operate the Longreach Hose Container to ensure smooth daily operations.
* Assist customers with parts enquiries and hose assembly requirements, delivering excellent service and technical support.
* Support Longreach-based fitters with day‐to‐day tasks, including parts expediting and coordination.
* Accurately track all tooling and ensure timely return to the Emerald tool store.
* Uphold safety and compliance standards while managing inventory and equipment.

About you
* Strong mechanical aptitude and enjoy working in a hands‐on environment.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist customers and collaborate with team members effectively.
* Detail‐oriented and organised, with a focus on accuracy in tracking tools and parts.
* Ability to work independently and take initiative while supporting a busy team.
* Previous experience in parts, hose assemblies, or a similar technical role is highly regarded.
* A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to problem‐solving.
