Job Title: Mechanical Commissioning Technician
Civmec is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Commissioning Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in mechanical trade qualifications and experience working in marine systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning of Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) in various stages, including Set to Work (STW), Harbour Acceptance Trials and Sea Acceptance Trials. They will work closely with subcontractors and vendors to ensure that all equipment and systems are functioning properly.
This role requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in similar roles and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Commissioning of OPVs in various stages, including STW, HATs and SATs
* Work closely with subcontractors and vendors to ensure equipment and systems are functioning properly
* Perform pre-test activities such as pipe testing and flushing, pre-delivery maintenance, operation of equipment and supporting post-delivery warranty periods
* Provide technical input for the creation and refinement of commissioning documentation
* Facilitate and verify the isolation process and ensure proper procedures are followed during re-energisation
* Execute planned maintenance activities on assigned systems and equipment
* Operate commissioned equipment as needed to support system testing, troubleshooting, and operational requirements
* Collaborate with Engineering, Production and other internal teams to drive efficient resolution of commission issues
* Maintain effective communication and foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
Requirements:
* Mechanical Trade qualification
* Enter and work in confined spaces license
* Working at heights license
* Gas Test Atmospheres license
* 5 + years' experience as a Marine Technician is desirable
* Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge of STW, HATs and SATs, operation and maintenance of marine systems
* HVAC, Platform, Auxiliary and Propulsion system knowledge is preferred
* Demonstrated experience using the Microsoft suite to collect and collate data and to develop reports
