About The Role

As our Team Leader – Carer Gateway, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting a dedicated team who deliver counselling, coaching and personalised support to carers. Working closely with the Deputy Manager and Manager, you will help embed service quality, drive continuous improvement and ensure carers feel heard, supported and empowered.

You will inspire your team to deliver exceptional, person‐centred services, celebrating strengths and addressing challenges with curiosity and care. You will foster a culture where staff feel confident, capable and deeply connected to the purpose of their work.

Duties

* Lead, support and empower a team to deliver high‐quality counselling, coaching and tailored support services that meet program outcomes and quality standards.
* Embed The Benevolent Society's vision, values and best‐practice frameworks in everyday work, ensuring staff have the capability, clarity and confidence to succeed.
* Support effective team operations by collaborating with leadership to identify improvements, streamline processes and strengthen sustainable, person‐centred service delivery.
* Lead your team confidently through ongoing program changes, fostering adaptability, clarity and practical support at every stage.
* Champion learning, reflective practice and professional growth by identifying development needs, supporting skills uplift and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with internal and external standards including accreditation, WHS, service contracts and professional practice requirements.

Skills And Experience

* Demonstrated experience providing practice leadership, supervision or team oversight within counselling, community services, or a related human services setting.
* Background in counselling, coaching, group work or clinical supervision (highly regarded).
* Strong understanding of regulatory, risk and compliance frameworks relevant to service delivery.
* Ability to manage competing priorities, resolve conflict, and support staff working with complex client needs.
* A collaborative, values‐driven leadership style that builds trust, strengthens relationships and models accountability.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to supporting staff capability, wellbeing and performance.
* Tertiary qualifications in human services (or a related field), with exposure to operational systems and service delivery environments.
