With a classic Australian backyard feel, the Club has extensive plans for significant redevelopment. The Club is seeking an energetic, personable General Manager to lead it into the future, capitalising on its unique opportunities. The successful applicant will possess a natural flair for food and beverage, experience in managing redevelopment programs, and a passion for innovation and service. The Club’s amenities include a restaurant, bar, small gaming room, two function spaces, alongside their highly popular barefoot bowls lawn. Merthyr Bowls Club is an entertainment hub for the local community, with a proud history dating back 75 years, initially providing bowls for injured servicemen and women. The role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the Club, along with certain aspects of the Club’s bowling operations. The successful applicant will demonstrate: Leadership within a complex hospitality environment. Capacity for strategic thinking and implementation of strategic and operational plans. Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of Club finances. A proven track record in growing revenues across all areas. A passion for delivering exceptional customer service to both customers and staff. Collegiate management abilities to work effectively with stakeholders. Liaison with and support for the Board and the bowling community, exercising specific delegated authorities. New Farm’s Merthyr Bowls Club is a popular destination for all ages.
