As a Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Release Management Team (RMT), working within a tribe focussed squad of release engineers deploying and testing releases in preparation for production deployment via the change management process.

We are accountable for the Groups key analytics capabilities including the GDW (Group Data Warehouse), Ab intio,Pega Decisioning, SAS, Tableau, Oracle BI and Data Stage. We are focused on enhancing these to create world leading capabilities for analytics, information management and Decisioning
We are interested in hearing from people who have
Knowledge and experience of a release orchestration tool, preferably XL Release
5+ years experience, preferably Omnia (Hadoop Big Data Platform) including expertise in writing complex queries.
Highly conversant on Unix/Linux operating systems.
Experience and knowledge on Github, Octopus, Team city, Jenkins, JFrog, Oracle and scheduling tool like Autosys or any other scheduling tool.
Experience and knowledge on XLR tool would be a big plus.
Should have used Confluence and JIRA
Experience of creating/reviewing well documented change records using change control tools such as MyService or ServiceNow
Support release team in the automation from deployment and Process automation point of view.
Best practices for software delivery
Domain expertise in systems engineering, programming languages, architecture frameworks and commercial/open source solutions
Combination of analytical mindset and business impact
Strong communication, influencing and facilitating skillsets, and able to discuss at the right level for whomever you communicate with
Knowledge and expertise of continuous delivery and continuous integration at enterprise scale
Roles and Responsibilities
Only accepting releases from engineering teams that are ready based on pre defined entry criteria
Gain a thorough understanding of the contents of the release
QA testing of the code that is not covered by automated QA
Deploying packages in SIT and preprod environments
Following testing plan accurately to ensure expected outcomes and then documenting results for test acceptance signoff ensuring Minimum Testing Standards are followed
