This role is available for candidates located in Australia or Singapore.
The Opportunity:
Grafana Cloud is our composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, and traces with Grafana, enabling customers to leverage open-source tools without the overhead of installing, maintaining, and scaling their own observability stack.
Our engineering organization is remote-first and global. We work with services primarily written in Go, running on Kubernetes clusters that leverage Cloud object storage.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Take an active role in influencing our roadmap and your own career objectives.
- Collaborate with your team to deliver new features, then use results to iterate and improve.
- Drive projects from ideation to operations in production.
- Contribute to open-source projects beyond your immediate team’s scope.
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems with responsibility for reliability, performance, and availability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and own the services you run.
- Mentor teammates, participate in design discussions, and collaborate across the team.
- Learn by gaining a deeper understanding of our cloud product, customers, and the codebase of a large distributed system.

Requirements:
- Solid experience with at least one programming language. We use Go, but Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar experience translates well.
- Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering to shipping a product in a self-driven way.
- Experience with cloud-based software or systems engineering.
- Experience writing clean, robust, and maintainable code.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with low-level code for databases, storage, or query engines.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience using Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles or hobby projects.
- Exposure to microservices and distributed systems, or a willingness to learn.
- On-call/SRE experience or familiarity with infrastructure as code.
Compensation & Rewards:
In Australia, base compensation ranges from 160,000 AUD to 200,000 AUD. Actual compensation varies based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed during the interview. Roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Compensation ranges are country-specific; recruiters will discuss market pay ranges and benefits if applying from a different location.
