The role
Overview
Project Manager responsible for overseeing and delivering a diverse range of projects across a substantial property portfolio in Perth, WA, extending to regional WA and remote territories (Christmas Island & Cocos (Keeling) Islands). The role demands excellent project management skills and involves the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to successful completion and handover.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of projects, primarily for government clients with occasional support for private investor properties.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closure for various project types including capital works delivery, structural improvements and remediation, sustainability initiatives, minor fit‐outs, and other commercial real‐estate services.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to mitigate risks and maintain timelines.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations and safety standards throughout project execution.
- Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide clear, concise updates to clients, team members and senior management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and client satisfaction.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure all deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and industry standards.
- Manage change requests and scope adjustments, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Oversee the procurement process for materials, equipment and services required for project completion.
- Ensure proper documentation of project activities, decisions and lessons learned for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies relevant to project management and commercial real‐estate.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5‐8 years of experience in project management, preferably in commercial real estate or facilities management with significant capital works experience.
- Desirable bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
- Relevant industry‐specific certifications (e.g., building and construction certifications) would be a plus.
Location
On‐site – Perth, WA (travel to regional WA and the Indian Ocean Territories as required).
