Global Engineering Consultancy | South Australia
A global engineering consultancy is seeking two Manufacturing Quality Engineers / Process Engineers to support an advanced-manufacturing program involving hydraulic actuators and active suspension systems. These roles work closely with engineering and production teams across South Australian supplier sites to strengthen manufacturing capability, optimise processes and support assembly line setup for upcoming production requirements.
The Opportunity
This 6-month contract suits engineers who enjoy hands-on work at supplier sites and who are confident across manufacturing, quality and process engineering. You will own production-readiness improvements through PFMEA development, capacity planning, process documentation and line optimisation, with regular collaboration across engineering and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and mature PFMEAs, control plans and process documents
• Support capacity planning, cycle-time studies and throughput improvement
• Set up or refine assembly lines including layout, tooling requirements, validation steps and workflow design
• Conduct root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions
• Perform leak-test reviews, process optimisation and quality-control assessments
• Strengthen manufacturing readiness for hydraulic actuator and active-suspension components
• Collaborate with supplier teams to ensure processes meet performance, quality and reliability targets
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in hydraulic actuator and/or active suspension manufacturing
• Strong capability in PFMEA, capacity planning, control plans, manufacturing documentation and problem-solving (RCA)
• Demonstrated experience establishing or improving assembly lines (tooling, layout, validation)
• Proficient in cycle-time analysis, leak-testing processes and manufacturing optimisation
• Degree in Electro-Mechanical, Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• Automotive experience (low- or high-volume production) highly regarded
• Able to work independently on supplier sites and communicate effectively with technical and leadership teams
• Candidates with an Australian-registered company are welcome but not required
