The Games are Australia's largest multi-sport festival, expected to attract 7,500+ participants across 50+ sports, celebrating lifelong participation, competition and community connection.
About The Role
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a complex, large-scale multi-sport event.
The successful candidate will lead project planning, event operations, commercial outcomes, workforce delivery and stakeholder engagement to ensure a professionally executed, financially sustainable and nationally recognised event.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Project Delivery
Lead the end-to-end planning, delivery and post-event evaluation of the GamesManage multiple project workstreams to ensure milestones, timelines and deliverables are achievedDeliver a seamless participant and stakeholder experience across competition and associated social programsEnsure all event operations are delivered to agreed standards, timelines and budget
Planning & Governance
Develop and implement the overarching Event Delivery Plan and Operational PlanEstablish project governance frameworks, reporting structures and risk controlsProvide regular progress reporting to executive stakeholders and partners
Commercial & Financial Management
Manage the full event budget, including revenue and expenditureLead sponsorship, partnership and commercial revenue initiativesEnsure strong financial governance and budget accountability
Stakeholder Engagement
Lead strategic relationships with government, host city partners, venues and sporting organisationsWork collaboratively with national and state sporting bodies to deliver the sports program
Workforce Leadership
Lead, develop and manage a diverse workforce of staff, contractors and volunteersOversee workforce planning, recruitment, training and performance frameworks
Marketing & Participant Experience
Oversee marketing and communications delivery in partnership with relevant teamsDrive participant engagement, brand positioning and customer experience outcomes
About You
You are a senior event or project executive with proven success delivering large-scale, complex sporting events or major projects.
Essential Experience
Proven leadership in delivering major sporting, community or large-scale eventsStrong project and program delivery capability across multiple workstreamsDemonstrated commercial and financial management expertiseExperience operating in complex stakeholder environmentsStrong leadership, governance and delivery focus
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in sport management, events, business or related disciplineSignificant relevant industry experience
