About The Role
This operational role contributes to the success of the City by working alongside crews in the horticultural maintenance of high-profile parks, reserves and streetscapes within Hobart. The Team Leader Parks continually monitors, reviews and improves horticultural practices and work programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality open space services to the community.
Role Accountabilities Include
* Providing leadership and direction within the parks operations unit.
* Implement and supervise work programs and promoting contemporary horticultural practices.
* Assist the co-ordinator in the development of annual programs for the Parks unit.
* Delivering high-level customer service to ratepayers and community representatives.
* Promoting and ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety and Child and Youth Safety standards.
About You
You are an experienced horticulturalist and a hands-on leader with a passion for horticulture and public spaces. You bring:
* Proven experience leading horticultural teams in high-profile parks.
* Strong planning and organisational skills to implement effective work programs.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A collaborative and safety-focused approach to team leadership.
* Certificate III in Horticulture or a related field.
* A current Driver Licence and Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable qualifications include a Medium Rigid Driver Licence, Basic Traffic Control, First Aid, and ChemCert.
