Job Overview
The Heavy Industry Fabrication Specialist will be responsible for delivering fabrication solutions to meet customer requirements. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mark out/off structural fabrication and shapes according to specifications
2. Prepare material for bending, drilling or machining after dressing has been completed by the steelyard
3. Assemble and weld parts according to technical engineering drawings and route sheets
4. Repair, replace, modify and fabricate using appropriate tools and welding techniques
5. Perform appropriate welding to carry out the job
6. Operate hand tools and power tools appropriate to the job
7. Draw and interpret sketches appropriate to the job
8. Operate forklift/crane when required to shift and load equipment
9. Assist in the provision of on-the-job training when required
10. Dismantle, replace and assemble engineering components during general fabrication section activities
11. Conduct QA /QC inspections at 3rd party vendors, ensuring all Repairs/project works are to Metso standards, liaising with Engineering and product support as necessary
Requirements
* Boilermaker Trade Certificate
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to work in confined spaces
* Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings and procedure manuals
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
* Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
* Ability to complete weld test FCAW
