Position – Queensland FIFO/DIDO
We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team on a long-term basis at a leading Tier 1 Mine in Central Queensland. This is a embedded Contract role on site in the owners team, reporting to the Superintendent G&TS.
This role focuses on enhancing our engineering governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering standards, ensure adherence to quality processes, and help teams align with best practices.
Key duties for this role are to:
* Support engineering governance by ensuring compliance with relevant standards and processes.
* Assist in quality assurance initiatives to maintain the highest standards in project execution.
* Foster alignment among engineering teams regarding practices and standards.
* Conduct assessments and reviews of existing protocols to ensure efficiency and compliance.
* Engage with multiple stakeholders to effectively manage engineering governance activities and uphold quality standards.
* Ensure compliance with client policies, procedures, and systems.
* Cultivate a positive and productive working culture.
* Work a 5/2 or 4/3 roster on-site; FIFO (Brisbane) or DIDO options available, with flexibility for work from home once established in the team.
To be considered you must meet the following criteria:
* A strong commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.
* Relevant Civil Engineering degree with RPEQ certification (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) is essential.
* Proven experience in civil engineering within the mining/civil sector, with a preference for a focus on governance rather than project delivery.
* Familiarity with BHP standards and practices is advantageous.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
* A proactive approach, complemented by excellent time management and task prioritisation abilities.
* Previous experience in coal operations, particularly with Glencore/BHP/BMA, is highly regarded.
