About the Role
Boilermaker position located in Altona North, working across a wide range of heavy vehicles and trailers, performing welding, fabrication, structural repairs and maintenance activities to support the safe and reliable operation of the fleet.
Working hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Friday, with optional overtime when available.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out welding and fabrication repairs on heavy vehicles and trailers.
* Complete structural trailer repairs and modifications.
* Perform OXY, ARC, and MIG welding tasks on steel and alloy materials.
* Conduct trailer roof repairs and curtain track replacements.
* Complete skid plate replacements and general fabrication work.
* Assist with minor mechanical repairs where required.
* Maintain welding consumables and workshop inventory.
* Pick up and deliver inventory and parts as required.
* Maintain accurate job cards and maintenance records.
* Support workshop housekeeping and safety standards.
* Assist with mentoring and supporting apprentices.
* Work across multiple workshop locations if required.
* Participate in overtime when operationally required.
* Follow all workshop safety procedures and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
* Qualified Boilermaker or Fabrication Tradesperson.
* Previous experience within a workshop or heavy vehicle environment.
* Strong welding and fabrication capability.
* Knowledge of risks and hazards associated with hot works.
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
* Strong communication and problem‐solving skills.
* Basic computer literacy.
* Reliable, professional, and safety‐focused attitude.
* Strong commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
Licences & Qualifications
* Boilermaker or Fabrication Trade Certificate – Essential.
* Current Driver's Licence – Essential.
* HC, MC and Forklift Licence – Highly regarded.
* Heavy vehicle or transport industry experience – Preferred.
