The Position
The Duty Manager will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the Front Office and ensuring exceptional customer service is provided to our guests. The Duty Manager provides leadership to all members of the Front Office team and enforces the Hotel's Standards of Excellence in all areas including but not limited to: supervision of staff, training and rostering, excellent guest service and liaising with Food & Beverage and supporting the department as required.
Key responsibilities include:
* Responsible for the delivery of services from Guest Service Agents (GSAs) on the front desk.
* Manage and have oversight of the hotels property management system (Opera) whilst on duty.
* Leading by example in providing exceptional to in-house guests and visiting clients.
* Support the GSAs in assisting with the day to day tasks on the front desk when required.
* Review arrivals, departures and manage any special requests.
* Manage guest enquires, handle complaints and attend to guest needs with efficiency and urgency advising management as required.
* Maintaining effective working relationships with team members at all times.
* Be proactive and resourceful
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* In the absence of senior management Manage all fire and emergency situations, including evacuation.
* Prepare daily reports for General Manager and all department heads
* Support the Food and Beverage department as required.
About you:
As a self-motivated, passionate and focused individual you will possess the following attributes:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership position within a hotel guest services role
* Experience with Opera is highly regarded
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Immaculate presentation and unparalleled service delivery
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Professional, personable and driven
* Strong team player
A current RSA/Approved Managers certificate is required.
