This is a rare prospect to step into a newly created leadership role where you'll drive financial performance, operational excellence, and governance across a nationally recognised high-performance program.If you're a strategic operations leader with a strong finance focus, ready to make a real impact in elite sport, this could be the career-defining opportunity you've been seeking.About The OpportunityAs the Head of Operations, Finance and Governance, you will be reporting to the General Manager, with a dotted line to the CFO.
This position will lead the financial, operational, and governance functions across national and state-based high-performance programs.You'll be responsible for budget oversight, grant management, and financial reporting, while also shaping the operational frameworks that support athlete pathways and program delivery.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you'll ensure alignment between strategic goals, funding outcomes, and day-to-day execution.Your Key Deliverables Will IncludeLead the development and management of program budgets, financial reporting, forecasting and funding allocations across national and state programsPrepare grant acquittals and compliance reporting for key funding bodies, ensuring transparency and alignment with grant conditionsProvide strategic financial analysis and insights to senior leaders to support planning, resource allocation, and decision-makingOversee governance frameworks, including risk management, policy development, and internal compliance across the high-performance portfolioCollaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance financial capabilities and ensure alignment with strategic objectivesDrive process and system improvements to increase operational efficiency and financial controlBuild and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders including funding bodies, national sporting organisations, and state partnersIdeal ProfileCA/CPA qualified with 7+ years' experience in commercially focused finance roles, coupled with exceptional business partnering capabilitiesProven expertise in managing budgets, financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting within complex organisationsDemonstrated operational experience with a finance lens, optimising processes and resource allocation to drive efficiency and performanceStrong background in grant management, acquittals, and compliance reportingSound knowledge of governance frameworks, risk management, and regulatory complianceExceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levelsDemonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners to drive strategic outcomesBenefitsCombine your finance expertise with your passion for sport.Partner with senior leaders to drive financial performance and governance.Flexible working arrangements offered.To apply online please click the 'Apply' button below.
