Join to apply for the Senior Manager Prudential Governance role at Westpac Group 
The Senior Manager Prudential Governance plays a key role in supporting and overseeing compliance with APRA’s credit risk and capital adequacy prudential standards. You’ll be the subject matter expert on prudential governance, helping ensure Westpac maintains a strong control environment and meets its regulatory obligations. 
Responsibilities 
- Be the subject matter expert on APRA credit risk and capital adequacy standards, influencing governance across the credit lifecycle 
- Work with senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies to strengthen Westpac’s credit risk control environment 
- Lead strategic initiatives and forums that shape the future of prudential compliance and credit risk management 
What’s the role? 
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the credit risk lifecycle from origination to write-off to identify and remediate control weaknesses, manage governance forums, and provide insights on regulatory interpretation. You’ll also support APRA engagements, manage prudential attestations, and maintain enterprise registers of deficiencies and material interpretations. This is a high-impact role that supports both strategic projects and day-to-day operations, with visibility across senior leadership and committees. 
This is a full-time 12-month fixed-term role based in Sydney with flexible hybrid working arrangements available. 
What do I need? 
We’re looking for someone who brings: 
- Strong knowledge of APRA’s credit risk and capital adequacy frameworks 
- Experience in credit risk management across retail and non-retail lending 
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including running working groups and forums 
- Ability to identify and remediate control issues, and manage governance processes 
- Experience in credit provisioning, credit risk rating systems, and regulatory reporting 
- A continuous improvement mindset with proven ability to deliver outcomes in complex environments
