**About the role**:
The Quality Assistant will assist with the assessment and classification of grain receival via road and rail, the maintenance of grain quality recording systems during the storage period, and, in collaboration with operational staff, the outturn of grain to domestic and export customers in accordance with specified quality and quarantine requirements.
You will also be responsible in ensuring that grain quality and related systems at port are operating at a satisfactory level.
These systems include OHS, grain assessment standards, training and competency records, maintenance and calibration of testing equipment, site hygiene, environmental considerations and compliance with policies and procedures.
**About your experience**:
- Sound knowledge of grain receival, outturn standards and grain quality testing systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- High level of interpersonal skills including customer relationship management skills
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, databases and systems)
- Experience in similar lab environment, ideally grain related is highly beneficial
