Program Facilitator – Farm Business Resilience

Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers Ltd – Bundaberg QLD

About us

At Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG), we're proud to be the voice of Queensland's commercial fruit, vegetable, and nut growers – and we've been doing it for over 100 years.

We're here to back our growers every step of the way. Whether it's lobbying for better policies, making sense of workplace relations, or delivering hands‑on support through our project delivery arm Growcom, everything we do is about building a stronger, smarter, and more sustainable horticulture industry.

From navigating compliance and climate challenges to unlocking new opportunities for innovation and growth, we deliver real‑world solutions with a human touch. Our team combines deep industry knowledge with a practical mindset – and we're not afraid to get our boots dirty if it means helping growers thrive.

If you're passionate about the future of fresh produce, we'd love to work with you.

About the role

We're on the lookout for a Program Facilitator to deliver the Farm Business Resilience Program (FBRP) – a big‑picture initiative designed to embed whole‑of‑farm planning, strengthen risk management, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the industry.

This isn't about ticking boxes. It's about sparking long‑term change: giving growers the tools, confidence, and support they need to make smarter decisions and keep their farms thriving.

You'll work alongside industry groups, regional partners, and government to keep the program fresh, relevant, and easy for growers to engage with. You'll use the Hort360 platform to guide planning and support and help make sure growers' progress and outcomes are captured and celebrated.

If you love enjoying working one‑on‑one with producers, running workshops and farm walks, and seeing firsthand the impact of your work, this is the role for you.

Your focus areas

* Delivering FBRP activities on the ground, including workshops, farm walks, and one‑on‑one support for growers.
* Supporting producers to develop whole‑of‑farm business plans and improve risk management practices.
* Facilitating engagement with priority and hard‑to‑reach cohorts, helping increase program reach and impact.
* Using the Hort360 platform and other tools to support growers' planning and track practice change.
* Gathering feedback, success stories, and progress from growers to contribute to program reporting and improvement.
* Working collaboratively with other facilitators, the Program Manager, and industry partners to coordinate activities and share insights.

What your day might look like

* Kick off with a quick team catch‑up to check in on progress and plan priorities for the week.
* Head out for a farm visit, on‑one‑on‑one meeting, or deliver a grower workshop – helping producers with business planning and risk management.
* Follow up with growers to check progress, answer questions, and offer practical support.
* Connect with local partners or industry contacts – sharing updates and identifying new opportunities to support grower needs.
* Wrap up by updating records, sharing insights or stories with the team, and planning your next round of extension activities.

Why you'll love working with us

* Be part of a hands‑on, high‑impact program that makes a real difference for Queensland growers.
* Join a supportive team where your ideas and initiative are valued.
* Enjoy flexible work that lets you spend meaningful time both on farm and connecting with partners across the region.
* See the results for your work – helping growers strengthen their businesses and communities.
* Work with people who genuinely care about making a difference, in a team that backs each other and celebrates success.
* Competitive salary, including a company car with some personal use permitted.

Here's what you'll bring to the role

* Passion for horticulture and a clear understanding of what Queensland producers face.
* Practical experience supporting growers, farm business, or rural communities to achieve real, on‑farm results.
* Enthusiasm for working directly with producers – able to build trust, listen actively, and offer practical solutions.
* Confident facilitator – comfortable running farm walks, workshops, and on‑one‑on‑one sessions.
* Strong relationship builder, able to connect with growers, industry, and regional partners to maximise engagement and impact.
* Organised and proactive, able to manage your time, keep good records, and follow up to ensure growers stay on track.
* Skilled in using digital tools and platforms (such as Hort360, CRMs, spreadsheets) to support planning, record progress and share insights.
* Excellent communicator – clear, approachable, and positive in both writing and speaking, whether in the field or presenting to a group.
* Collaborative team player who shares knowledge, supports colleagues, and contributes to a positive team culture.

Mandatory Requirements

* Current C‑class driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly within your allocated region, and occasionally across other Queensland regions as required (some after‑hours events may be needed).
* Ongoing right to work in Australia.
