Salary Package
$161,696 pa. Package includes salary from $129,464 to $142,665, plus employer's contribution to superannuation of 12% and annual leave loading.

About the role
We have an opportunity for a Systems Administrator (Linux/OpenShift) to be part of our Hosting Platform, Technology & Communication Service Command team. The Systems Administrator supports service delivery to the organisation in the management of IT computer systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer, monitor and optimise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8+) environments
* Plan, deploy and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure
* Automate system configuration and patching using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite
* Support application teams with system integration, scripting and troubleshooting
* Maintain system security through patching, hardening and compliance adherence
* Monitor system health using tools such as Splunk and SolarWinds
* Participate in an on‐call support rotation
Required Skills & Experience Professional
* Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across infrastructure, security, and application development teams
Technical
* 3+ years Linux administration experience (preferably RHEL)
* Strong knowledge of CIS Framework, SELinux, LVM, LDAP, SSSD
* Proven troubleshooting ability across RHEL systems, including diagnosing complex issues in virtualised environments
Automation & Scripting
* Hands‐on experience with Ansible
* Proficiency in Bash and/or Python
Infrastructure
* Understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, firewalls, TLS/SSL)
Observability
* Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, Dynatrace
Desirable Skills and Certifications
* Kubernetes or OpenShift experience
