APC Technology · Cheltenham, Adelaide, SA
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.
Join APC at a growth inflection point
APC Technology designs, engineers and manufactures rugged computing, display and control solutions that perform in extreme and mission‐critical environments, including intrinsically safe tablets, hazardous‐area certified devices, food‐grade panel PCs and MIL‐SPEC displays for armoured vehicles, aerospace and defence programs. As Project Management Officer, you sit at the heart of how these complex, high‐value programs are planned, coordinated and delivered across sales, marketing and engineering, turning opportunity into revenue and robust, field‐ready product.
This is a full‐time, on‐site role based at APC's multi‐million dollar engineering and manufacturing facility in Cheltenham, South Australia, working closely with senior leaders across Sales & Marketing, Engineering and Operations.
What you will be doing
Sales, marketing and commercial delivery focus
Partner with Sales & Marketing to shape project scopes, timelines and resourcing plans for key bids, capture activities, campaigns and customer delivery programs.
Build and maintain integrated project schedules that connect pre‐sales, proposals, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and customer delivery.
Track pipeline and active programs, providing clear, visual status reporting on milestones, risks, dependencies and commercial impacts for leadership and account owners.
Support preparation of bid and proposal documentation by coordinating inputs, version control, review cycles and submission timelines.
Coordinate launch and change activities across marketing, sales and operations when new APC products, platforms or service offerings go to market.
Engineering and program delivery focus
Develop and maintain detailed project plans for complex engineered products, from requirements capture and design through prototyping, testing, certification and production.
Liaise daily with engineering, test labs, operations, and the supply chain to coordinate dependencies, resource loading, and build schedules, ensuring electronic and rugged computing platforms move smoothly through each delivery stage.
Run cadence for program governance: stand‐ups, risk and issue reviews, change control, gate reviews and lessons learned, with clear actions and follow‐up.
Monitor project progress against scope, time, cost and quality baselines, escalating roadblocks early and facilitating practical, data‐driven decisions to keep programs on track.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including status reports, RAID logs, decision registers, meeting notes and customer‐facing progress updates.
Continuous improvement and ways of working
Champion consistent use of project management tools, templates and standards across sales, marketing and engineering programs.
Analyse delivery performance and contribute ideas that improve forecast accuracy, on‐time delivery, margin and customer experience.
Help evolve APC's end‐to‐end program framework as the organisation shifts from "engineering capacity" to "delivering complex programs at scale".
What we are looking for
Proven experience as a Project Management Officer, Project Coordinator or Project Manager within manufacturing, engineering, electronics, defence or technology environments.
Minimum 5 years of end‐to‐end project management experience, ideally including both commercial / customer‐facing projects and technical delivery programs.
Strong practical knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to balance structure with pragmatism in a real‐world manufacturing environment.
Essential proficiency in Microsoft Project (or equivalent), with confidence in building and maintaining multi‐stream schedules and resource plans.
Experience with contemporary collaboration and project tools such as Jira, Trello, Confluence or similar.
Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical and commercial information into clear, concise updates for different audiences.
Demonstrated strength in stakeholder management, building trusted relationships with sales, marketing, engineers, operations and external customers.
A solutions‐oriented mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity, resolving roadblocks and making sound recommendations based on data and risk.
A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Commerce or a related discipline is highly regarded.
Why this role is attractive
Impact across the full value chain – Direct line of sight from early customer conversations and marketing campaigns through to certified product shipped and in service in demanding environments.
Exposure to major defence and industrial programs, including armoured vehicle displays, aerospace platforms, hazardous area computing and vibration / environmental test programs.
Visibility and career growth – Regular interaction with APC's senior leadership team across Sales & Marketing, Engineering and Operations, with the opportunity to influence how programs are shaped and delivered.
A clear platform to grow into senior project management, program management or operations leadership roles as APC's portfolio and international presence expand.
Competitive salary and performance‐based bonus structure.
Flexible work arrangements by agreement, with core presence at the Cheltenham site to stay close to projects and teams.
Access to training, development and professional accreditation support aligned to project management and defence / industrial program delivery.
A collaborative, engineering‐led culture where project outcomes, continuous improvement and shared success are genuinely valued.
Employee wellness initiatives and access to APC's innovative product ecosystem.
