Overview
Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust seeks a strategic and ambitious Chief Operating Officer & Deputy CEO (COO) to deliver and develop a new five-year strategy focused on expanding its creative programme, commercial income opportunities, and community and stakeholder engagement.
Newcastle Theatre Royal is one of the best and most recognised independent large-scale theatres in the UK. Our Grade I listed building sits in the heart of the city centre, with a reputation for staging high-quality national and international touring work. The theatre engages with young people, community groups, and talent development programmes and hosts relationships with leading national theatre companies and producers.
Responsibilities
* Work in close partnership with the CEO and Executive Leadership team to contribute to the development of strategic planning, identification of new opportunities, and innovation for the Trust.
* Develop and implement a positive organisational culture and staff development across the organisation.
* Provide executive leadership on strategic financial, governance, risk, legal, and regulatory matters, advising the Board of Trustees and the Executive Leadership Team to ensure effective corporate planning and financial control.
* Ensure an engaged and positive workplace culture and the efficient, effective, and sustainable delivery of the strategic plan.
* Oversee all building, facilities, technical theatre, visitor experience, and commercial operations through the Director Operations.
* Lead Health and Safety, risk management, security, and environmental compliance.
Qualifications
* Experience as a strategic senior leader with the ability to manage change and organisational development.
* Strong financial acumen with a relevant qualification.
* Entrepreneurial and ambitious problem-solver with a passion for the performing arts.
