About the business unit The Business Support Officer is part of the Loddon Prison and Middleton Vocational Services team. Loddon Prison consists of a 477-bed medium risk facility, and Middleton a 236-bed restricted minimum facility. The Vocational Services Team prepares prisoners for release and work to enhance prisoner post release employment opportunities, targeted educational opportunities and personal development programs and activities. About the role The Business Support Officer works within a team environment to optimise the opportunities for prisoners to enhance their life skills and personal development through all aspects of the day-to-day routines, services and programs conducted in the facilities. More specifically this role is responsible for Vocational Services & Prison Industries administration, maintaining Occupational Health and Safety records, provide procurement and industry finance support and administration duties relating to prisoner employment. The role includes implementing best-practice financial processes and detailed industry analysis, monitoring and reporting advice to the Vocational Services and Industry Managers and may be required to cover leave or provide support for other administrative areas within Loddon Prison and Middleton. This position may also require direct prisoner contact. Some of your duties will include: * Providing a high level administrative support to the Vocational Services and/or Industry Manager and the Prison Industries business unit. * Providing a broad range of office management and administrative functions by monitoring workflows and effectively operating in a busy environment. * Coordinating the team diary, meetings/minutes, appointments and travel arrangements based on an ongoing assessment of priorities. * Coordinating high level procurement activities for industries including the preparation of production orders, receipt purchase orders and record work in progress, as well as providing support to managers to enable them to utilise financial and procurement systems To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position des.cription.
