Job Description
AECOM's Highways team in Brisbane is growing and we're looking for an experienced Senior Technical Officer to help deliver some of Queensland's most important transport infrastructure projects.
With a strong pipeline of work across TMR and major local government clients, this is a role where you'll step into real design leadership, take ownership of complex packages, and play a key role in shaping how projects are delivered.
How you'll make a difference
* Lead the geometric design of highways, arterial roads and intersections using 12d.
* Deliver high‐quality design aligned with TMR RPDM and Austroads standards.
* Own complex design packages including: horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections and corridor modelling; superelevation and drainage interfaces.
* Act as a design lead on major TMR projects, coordinating inputs across multidisciplinary teams.
* Mentor and support designers and junior engineers, building capability across the team.
* Contribute to innovation in digital engineering, modelling and automation.
Qualifications
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. All applications will be considered.
* 8–10+ years' experience in civil design, ideally within highways or transport infrastructure.
* Strong capability in 12d and AutoCAD (essential).
* Experience with 12d drainage (highly regarded).
* Exposure to Civil 3D, OpenRoads and/or MicroStation (advantageous).
* Associate Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
* Confidence working across multidisciplinary teams and managing design interfaces.
