About the Role We are seeking a Civil Designer to join our growing Engineering Services team. The role is open to candidates based on the Sunshine Coast or in Brisbane, with regular attendance at our Sunshine Coast office required as part of the role. This is a hands-on role for a designer ready to take the next step – building technical capability, contributing independently to projects, and working alongside experienced engineers and designers in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare civil design drawings and documentation for infrastructure and land development projects Assist in the development of site layouts, grading plans, roadworks, drainage, and utility designs Produce detailed drawings including sections, profiles, earthworks, pavements, and stormwater systems Support surface modelling, grading design, and earthwork quantity calculations Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to ensure accurate and integrated project delivery Update drawings and models based on design revisions, redlines, and client feedback Ensure drawings comply with drafting standards, project requirements, and QA procedures Assist in preparing drawing packages for approvals, tendering, and construction Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and project discussions Maintain organised CAD files, drawing registers, and revision control systems Contribute to digital engineering initiatives and continuous improvement activities Qualifications Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) Required Skills Approximately 2–5 years’ experience in civil design or drafting within infrastructure or land development projects Experience across:Earthworks and gradingRoadworks and site developmentStormwater and drainage systemsUtilities and subdivision design Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or 12DStrong understanding of civil drafting standards and construction documentation Experience with terrain modelling, volumetrics, and design coordination Exposure to GIS or digital engineering workflows (highly regarded) Ability to interpret engineering concepts and translate them into accurate technical drawings You’ll be a great fit if you have: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to design quality and accuracy Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders An analytical mindset and practical problem-solving abilities, supported by sound engineering judgement A collaborative approach, with a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to team success If you are passionate about civil engineering design and ready to take the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply now.
