About the opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Project Officer to join our Animal Biosecurity and Welfare team in the area of WA's livestock traceability and registration systems.
WA's livestock traceability and stock owner registration systems are a crucial part of protecting WA's agricultural sectors against disease outbreaks and protecting our reputation for safe products both domestically and internationally.
There is currently one (1) 24-month fixed-term, full-time position with the possibility of extension and/or permanency available for immediate filling.
This position will lead a project to review and build upon recent enhancements to the administration of WA's livestock traceability and registration systems.
This will involve working closely with relevant teams and livestock industry stakeholders to optimise systems and practices within a modern regulatory environment.
Key Qualifications
Experience in administering or implementing projects related to regulatory frameworks, or systems such as licensing or registrations.
Demonstrated experience in complex project management, including the ability to manage competing priorities to deliver upon agreed outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Well-developed problem-solving skills, with the demonstrated ability to develop practical and innovative solutions to issues, including the use of modern information technology solutions.
Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in supporting organisational change and communicating with external stakeholders.
Experience in developing and writing operational policies and procedures.
An understanding of the livestock industries in Western Australia is desirable.
