About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our Neuropsychology Consultation Service for a 12-month temporary appointment, up to 24 hours per week. In this role, you will provide specialist neuropsychological assessment and intervention for hospital patients with complex medical and neurological conditions. Your expertise will guide diagnosis, treatment planning, capacity assessments, and discharge planning, ensuring care is timely, collaborative, and culturally responsive.

The position includes participating in service evaluation through data collection to inform quality improvement initiatives. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate neuropsychological insights into patient care, provide supervision and support to psychology trainees and other staff, and contribute to the development and delivery of education and consultation for medical, nursing, and allied health disciplines.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a busy tertiary hospital, helping shape and strengthen neuropsychology services while supporting high-quality, patient-centred care.

What You'll be Doing

This position provides specialised and evidence based neuropsychological assessment of patients/consumers with a wide range of disorders/diseases with potential cognitive and/or behavioural implications, for the purpose of assisting with clinical management, determining specific competencies or facilitating discharge planning.

The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organizational needs.

Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.

The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation.
