Staff Specialist – Intensive Care Medicine Regional Queensland | Leading Referral Hospital An outstanding opportunity is available for a Staff Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine to join the Intensive Care Unit at Rockhampton Hospital, a major regional referral centre serving Central Queensland. The ICU provides specialist care to patients across a large regional catchment including Gladstone, Emerald, Biloela and Longreach. About the Service The Intensive Care Unit delivers care for a diverse mix of adult and paediatric patients, managing approximately: * 450–650 ICU presentations annually * 60–100 paediatric admissions per year As a regional referral ICU, the unit manages complex cases while working closely with tertiary centres across Queensland. In this position you will: * Provide high-quality clinical intensive care services * Deliver expert assessment, admission, ongoing management, transfer and discharge of critically ill patients * Contribute to teaching and supervision of junior doctors, students, nursing and allied health staff * Participate in patient safety initiatives, audit, research and service planning * Support the Director of ICU in the operational management of the unit * Provide leadership in clinical governance, service improvement and evidence-based care This role offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver specialist care in a regional setting while contributing to the ongoing development of critical care services.
