Buru Rehab is an Indigenous owned earthworks and mining services contractor. Our core business covers mine rehabilitation for projects throughout Western Australia. We have a unique opportunity for a Leading Hand at one of our site services projects for a Client near Port Hedland. Leading a close-knit, culturally diverse and team, you will be responsible for team and works supervision and SME fleet management as well as compliance for the project. Reporting to the Project Manager, your focus will be on overseeing daily operations with a focus on safe and efficient practices and maximising the potential of our people.
The Role
- Providing leadership, mentoring and support to your team while ensuring that work is delivered safely in line with schedules and Client and Site procedures.
- Demonstrate a strong safety focus and driving an engaged safety culture, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements across all operations.
- Contributing to the development of systems, standards, processes, and procedures for standardised work management.
- Reviewing plans and performance to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Monitoring the performance of work crews and providing training, mentoring, and coaching as necessary.
- Leading pre-start meetings and ensuring there is a strong safety focus on outcomes.
- Client relationship management and associated compliance/ administration.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine operation in a mining environment with a safety first mindset and be capable in effectively managing Client relationships. You will have:
- Working knowledge of mine safety procedures and regulations essential
- Minimum of 2 years' experience and proven success in a Leading-hand or Supervisory role including Client and SME fleet management
- Competent with good understanding of computer systems and digital tools to support daily tasks
- Current valid Driver's License
- Flexible and approachable leadership approach
- MRL Inducted (preferred)
