Remuneration: $122,852 to $134,385 per annum (HEW7, inclusive of $103,811 to $113,557 salary, 17% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Contracts Associate to join the Office of Research Services, Research Portfolio, Academic Division. The Contracts Associate is part of the Contracts Unit and is primarily responsible for independently managing low to medium risk research contracts from all QUT faculties. The successful applicant will have detailed knowledge of research contracts, be an authority on low to medium risk arrangements, and have experience with contracts requiring specialist knowledge.

Responsibilities

* Independently manage low to medium risk research contracts, including due diligence, risk assessment, and records management.
* Liaise with researchers, research legal, pre-award and post-award teams within the Research Portfolio.
* Identify continuous improvement opportunities and build capability aligned to service delivery requirements.
* Work independently and as part of a team, reporting to the Manager, Contracts Unit for career planning, development, and performance expectations.

Qualifications

* A degree with a minimum of four (4) years subsequent relevant experience.
* Extensive experience independently managing research contract development and negotiation of low to moderate risk agreements, with ability to support high-risk agreements under supervision.
* Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend solutions to challenging issues.
* High level ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures in a complex setting.
* High initiative, proven track record of keeping records, managing tasks, and driving projects to completion.
* Strong written and oral communication skills demonstrated in negotiation and stakeholder communication.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a high-functioning team environment.
* Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and Indigenous Australian engagement.
