Job Description:
As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialist engineering support to our manufacturing production lines. Your primary responsibility will be to respond to plant breakdowns, diagnose faults, and minimize downtime. You will also design, modify, and improve plant equipment software to ensure our automation systems operate at peak performance.
In addition to maintaining existing systems, you will have the opportunity to implement PLC code, support major line improvements, and contribute to new projects. You will write and maintain onsite electrical procedures, conduct investigations into plant issues, and collaborate with other engineers to develop innovative solutions that enhance our manufacturing processes.
This role is ideal for an experienced automation specialist who enjoys problem-solving, working with cutting-edge automation technology, and making a real impact in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Time-served apprenticeship and HNC or higher in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation disciplines
* Experience in PLC programming, fault finding, and system optimization within a manufacturing environment
* Hands-on expertise with Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logix or Siemens S7 PLCs, as well as AC/DC Inverter drives
* Strong problem-solving skills, ability to read engineering drawings, and knowledge of SCADA, HMI development, and industrial communication protocols
