Star Aviation are Australia's most dedicated ground handling service, with over 20 client airlines spread across ten airports Australia-wide. Due to expansion, we have a newly-created role for a Logistics Assistant in our Mascot Head Office.
The Logistics Assistant is responsible for helping the Logistics Coordinators in receiving and distributing airline associated rotatable stock, ensuring efficient receiving processes, and able to promptly resolve any problems or discrepancies. In this role you will need to have great attention to detail to accurately manage Airline stock and linen and be in good physical condition to lift and move items.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Make up Airline linen ship sets ready for the relevant flights.
- Change and sort Airline pillows/cases ready for the relevant flights.
- Assist in the prompt loading and unloading of bulk products to the warehouse or on to trucks / vehicles.
- Assist in storing, packing and retrieval of goods and materials in accordance with procedures and/or regulations.
- Allocating and retrieving goods from specific warehouse areas.
- Ensure appropriate housekeeping of the work area and a safe work environment.
- Assist in warehouse stocktake counting.
- Collaborates and communicates with service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Experience within the Aviation and/or Logistics/Transport Industry.
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to Work Health and Safety
- Excellent computer and data entry skills
- A valid driver (car, medium or HR) license - desirable
- A valid Forklift License - desirable
**Competencies and Skills**:
- High level of personal fitness
- Understanding of the operational requirements of Ground Handling
- Understanding of the Aviation Industry

This is a Monday to Friday role, with working hours from 10:00am until 2:00pm.
