**About the role**

The Faculty of Law's 'Law Health Justice Research Centre' is currently recruiting for a Research Assistant with a qualitative research focus to join their team on a fixed term basis for up to 24 months working up to 0.8 FTE.

The Research Assistant is responsible for assisting in the conduct of a major programme of socio-legal research which aims to understand and respond to the legal barriers and enablers of testing and treatment for those living with HIV or Hepatitis B living in Australia. The Research Assistant has a particular focus on project activities related to qualitative research. This includes, amongst other things, conducting and analysing qualitative interviews working with people living with HIV or Hepatitis B who are migrants or non-citizens or have migration-related legal needs.

The Research Assistant will play a critical role in ensuring the effective and efficient day to day delivery of the project including qualitative data collection and management, research administration, the undertaking of literature searches and reviews, assisting with the drafting of research documentation and analysis and assistance with the preparation of reports and scholarly publications.

- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships and positive rapport with colleagues and external stakeholders
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, initiative and demonstrate confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy in all dealings
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, with an ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload
- Proven ability to undertake research-related tasks, with experience undertaking qualitative research tasks preferred

**What we offer you**

**Base Salary Range**: $73,949 to $84,598 pa (HEW 5) (pro-rata)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) **in addition to** the base salary.

This appointment will be **part-time (0.6 - 0.8 FTE)** and the contract will be made on a **fixed term basis for 24 months**.
