We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to join a high‐performing team within a fast‐paced environment. This is an exciting 8‐month contract opportunity for a hands‐on engineer who thrives in dynamic, operational settings and is passionate about reliability and continuous improvement.
About the Role
This position is focused on reliability‐centred maintenance and technical support, ensuring critical plant equipment operates safely and efficiently. You will play a key role in supporting daily operations, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with cross‐functional teams to minimise downtime and improve performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Tackle critical refinery systems and reduce unplanned outages from day one
* Lead and mentor technicians while working with a skilled multi‐disciplined team.

* Provide technical support across electrical, instrumentation, and control systems
* Focus on reliability and maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned outages
* Troubleshoot equipment failures and support rapid return to service
* Develop and improve maintenance plans and life‐cycle strategies
* Work closely with technicians, providing hands‐on mentoring and coaching
* Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams
* Attend regular OMT (Operations, Maintenance & Technical) meetings
* Support continuous improvement by learning from failures and optimising processes
About You
* Strong experience across both Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)
* Proven background in hazardous area environments (essential)
* Experience in refinery, oil & gas, LNG, or heavy industry
* Hands‐on approach with strong fault‐finding and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work in a fast‐changing, high‐pressure environment
* Strong communication skills and a team‐first mindset
* Experience mentoring or supporting technicians on‐site
* HV (High Voltage) experience highly regarded
* 8‐month contract with immediate impact
* Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
* Primarily site‐based role (Brisbane)
* Flexibility for 1 work‐from‐home day after onboarding
* Work alongside a highly experienced and collaborative team
