**The Role**:
The
** EL1 Assistant Director - Executive and Corporate Communications **is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the agency to across a range of forums.

This specific role has primarily an internal focus, supporting staff communication from our People and Culture division, and other relevant internal messaging that supports Agency staff to perform their roles and feel supported in the workplace.

**Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:

- Contributing to the strategic direction of projects and business improvement initiatives, driving the strategic and co-ordinated management of targeted communications and engagement activities.
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders through a communications and engagement business partnering model within the agency, guiding the team with best practice ways to provide advice, quality assurance and support to business areas to meet their communication objectives.
- Leading staff to deliver timely, innovative, efficient and evidence-based communications and engagement strategies, plans, content and activities that support Corporate Plan objectives.
- Using reporting metrics to review the impact of communication and engagement activity and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Preparing high-quality, clear and accessible written content that meets the needs of participants and other audiences and aligns with the agency brand.
- Scanning and interpreting a complex government and social landscape to identify and mitigate reputational risks associated with, communication and engagement activities.
- Identifying and mitigate reputational risks associated with communication, engagement and business activities.
- Fostering creativity and innovation in content creation across a range of channels, sharing best practice and new skills in the team.

**Madatory Requirements**:

- Demonstrate leadership skill and Relationship management.
- Strategic communications advice, planning and development, preferably with an internal focus.
- Execllant communication skills ( oral & written ) with managing team and stakeholder managemnet skills.
- Internal, executive and/or corporate communications strategy planning and content development.
- An understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability is highly desirable.

This role is at the EL1 level equivalent offering $602.55 per day + 10.50% super. The rate of pay is casually loaded, as you will not be accruing annual or sick leave.

As this role is within the Federal Government, applicants are required to be Australian Citizens to be considered.
