Quality Programs Team Leader – Health Workforce Development Program (Timor‐Leste)

$122,113 – $128,541 per year + 12% Superannuation, plus salary packaging. Fixed‐term full‐time contract, two years, 38 hours per week, commencing October 2026.

Base location: Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares, Timor‐Leste. Relocation assistance, financial rent assistance, car with fuel allowance, flight allowance for contract travel, language lessons in Tetun, and support with work visas.

Responsibilities

* Act as an ambassador for SJGIH programs, providing leadership to caregivers and upholding SJGHC Vision, Mission, and Values.
* Collaborate with Program Managers and Team Leaders across portfolios to design, plan, and implement integrated activities as set out in SJGIH plans.
* Provide on‐ground leadership to design and implement capacity‐strengthening activities that enhance the capability and capacity of Timorese caregivers and program counterparts.
* Contribute to monitoring and evaluating design and activities, including quantitative and qualitative reporting that demonstrates progress against strategic plans.
* Provide oversight for delivery, troubleshooting, monitoring and evaluation of Quality Programs and address issues and lessons learned.
* Build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, providing expert advice on Quality Program matters, ensuring programs meet Ministry of Health needs.
* Promote a professional environment that supports good healthcare practice, professionalism, clear communication and reporting, and a safe, clean work environment.

Qualifications

* Registered nursing or midwifery qualification and eligibility to practice in Australia.
* Post‐graduate qualification and/or minimum two years' experience in a quality role, including auditing, policy development and implementation, standard operating procedures, infection control and data management.
* At least two years' leadership/management experience, able to lead and manage outcomes at strategic and operational levels.
* Commitment to learning, including local language Tetun.
