What You'll Be Doing
Provide advanced and complex patient care within your specialty that reflects current standards of nursing practice and Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures. Mid North Coast Integrated Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs (IMHAOD) will implement a new Emergency Mental Health & Addiction Assessment Team (EMHAART) service to provide safe and easily accessible pathways aimed at improving consumer outcomes and experiences.
The service will provide consultation triage, assessments, and referral services to the appropriate mental health or substance use disorders (SUD) services for people of MNCLHD across their lifespan. The district has a wide distribution of consumers that have challenges accessing services, requiring a refined and centralised 24/7 referral, access, and entry pathways.
In this role you will undertake assessment and management of MHAOD presentations to ED and, when appropriate, provide consultation and assessment to emergency services through a virtual care platform and other modes of communication.
About You
A dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse holding current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, supported by relevant post‑registration qualifications and over three years of clinical experience aligned with your specialised postgraduate training. You practice evidence‑based care, professional integrity and a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes.
Work confidently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to collaborative, patient‑centred care. Bring well‑developed leadership capabilities, demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching nursing staff to support their professional growth and enhance clinical practice standards.
Background includes leading and initiating service‑improvement activities aimed at strengthening clinical outcomes, streamlining processes, and enhancing the overall patient experience. Possess advanced mental health knowledge and expert assessment skills, enabling effective response to complex clinical presentations.
