Key Responsibilities
Network design :
Develop and oversee the design of network architectures for both physical data centers and cloud environments, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements.
Strategic planning :
Create long-term strategies for network infrastructure, including planning for future growth and anticipating technology trends.
Security and compliance :
Implement and maintain network security policies, standards, and solutions to protect data and systems.
Performance and reliability :
Ensure network performance, scalability, and redundancy through ongoing analysis, testing, and optimization.
Cloud migration :
Plan and lead projects to migrate workloads and applications from on-premises data centers to cloud platforms.
Technology evaluation :
Research, evaluate, and recommend new hardware, software, and cloud solutions to improve the network.
Documentation :
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations, and policies.
Troubleshooting :
Act as a senior point of contact for complex network issues and lead problem-solving efforts.
Cross-functional collaboration :
Work with other IT teams, management, and external vendors to ensure network solutions align with business goals.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Network fundamentals :
Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and other core networking protocols and hardware.
Cloud platforms :
Expertise in designing and implementing network solutions within major cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Cloud-specific networking :
Experience with technologies like SD-WAN, MPLS, and cloud networking services.
Network modeling and analysis :
Ability to analyze network traffic and model performance to plan for capacity needs.
Security best practices :
Deep understanding of network security principles and best practices.
Project management :
Skills in developing project plans, timelines, and cost estimates.
Technical documentation :
Proficiency in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation.
