Job Description
The NDT Assistant Technician role is a critical position that supports field technicians in collecting ultrasonic inspection data and generating detailed reports. This role primarily focuses on the technical execution of projects, with a secondary focus on advancing skills for business development.
This role involves developing experience with equipment, technical methods, and basic practices of advanced ultrasonic inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assists in advanced inspection work under direction from the project manager and inspection team lead.
* Conducts commercial work with adherence to procedures and best practices, ensuring timely completion of projects.
* Develops reports drafts/templates ready for review with accurate and concise detail.
* Contributes to careful and thorough packing/unpacking of equipment for project work and organization/maintenance/upkeep of inspection equipment.
* Presents work in an organized format to facilitate QAQC, with technically correct written communication and professional attire.
* Demonstrates professional maturity, including respectful communication when working in a team, organizational skills, and conduct oneself in a professional manner.
* Attends technical training to develop technical expertise and advance knowledge/skills required for continued advancement.
* Maintains strict adherence to company safety policy and practices general safety awareness.
* Contributes to producing safety documentation and maintaining firm commitment to Core Values.
Required Skills and Qualifications
No related experience necessary.
Nationally recognized confined space training (within 2 years).
Completed construction induction training (white card).
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Proficiency with high-school level mathematics, including algebra, Pythagorean geometry, and trigonometry.
Current passport and driver's license.
Able to maintain confidentiality, self-driven, highly motivated, professional, and able to follow instruction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Able to travel variable as required but estimated at 40 to 60 percent, including international travel.
Able to work on offshore/international client premises and meet required testing, extended hours, and weekends/public holidays as required.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment and visits to client sites in industry environments.
