About The Service

We are a specialised statewide eating disorders service made up of two closely linked programs: an adult Day Program in Newcastle and a 12-bed Residential facility in Charlestown. We receive referrals from across NSW and deliver intensive, multidisciplinary treatment within a rehabilitation and recovery framework. Our residential service has been open for less than a year, and we are continuing to grow, refine and innovate our model of care.

We work collaboratively across disciplines in a supportive environment where the focus is on recovery, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement.

About The Team Culture

We are a cohesive, motivated and highly skilled team who value collaboration, respect and transparency.

Our work is fast-paced and clinically complex, but also deeply supportive. We share ideas openly, celebrate innovation, and maintain a culture grounded in compassion, cultural respect and recovery‑oriented practice.

About The Role

A typical week includes:

* Providing direct clinical interventions including collaborative intake, assessment, complex family work, education and discharge planning
* Working directly with residents, including group facilitation and meal support
* Participating in shift coordination
* Supporting intake processes and preparing clients for admission
* Offering consultation, leadership and supervision to staff
* Collaborating with NSW-wide providers to support continuity of care

This role requires independent clinical judgement, advanced problem‑solving and the ability to navigate complex family, social and systemic factors.

About You

You will ensure clinical governance, safe practice, and recovery‑oriented care across all stages of the treatment pathway.

We're seeking a Social Worker with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, collaborative style. You'll bring resilience, confidence, and the ability to support yourself and others in a demanding clinical environment. You must demonstrate high levels of professionalism, cultural competence and respect for clients, families and colleagues. Some training can be learned on the job, but experience with eating disorders, complex mental health, family work and senior clinical leadership is essential.

How We Support You

As part of the senior clinical leadership team, you will have access to:

* Comprehensive orientation and structured induction
* Ongoing clinical supervision
* Professional development, training and education opportunities
* Connections with the HNE Mental Health Social Work network
* Peer support from experienced clinicians across both REDC programs
