Senior Cafe Cook / All Rounder (38 hours per week - no nights)

Rival Brothers Coffee Roasters is seeking a talented Senior Cook / Chef All Rounder role to contribute to our kitchen operations in Mount Barker. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of delicious brunch dishes and sweets. Your creativity, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a small fast‑paced kitchen environment will contribute to the success of the team.
We are ideally seeking someone who can work 4–5 days per week including weekends (38 hours available). This is a full‑time salaried position with probation. We are also open to filling the role with two people seeking part‑time hours, so if you're seeking fewer hours, we encourage you to apply.
Minimum Requirements:
* Vocational qualification in Commercial Cookery or significant demonstrated experience as a Senior Cafe Cook.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in fast‑paced cafe kitchens.
* Availability to work a minimum of 4 days per week, rotating weekends required. No night trade.
As a Senior Cook / Chef All Rounder you will:
* Plan and execute daily food preparation, ensuring strict adherence to food safety standards and guidelines.
* Prepare food for sit‑down meals and display fridges, maintaining attractive and enticing presentations.
* Contribute to stock control and ordering for the kitchen, ensuring adequate supplies while minimizing waste.
* Thrive under pressure during busy periods, displaying a sense of timeliness and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
* Be proactive and utilize downtime effectively to contribute to other kitchen and Cafe tasks.
* Communicate effectively with the Cafe Manager, Chef/2IC, Cafe All Rounders and Cafe Assistants, fostering a seamless and memorable workplace and customer experience.
* Maintain a positive and fun team environment, actively participating in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
