St Laurence's College is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition with an enrolment of approximately 2,000 boys from Years 5-12.
Applications are invited for the permanent, full-time position of Assistant Head of Faculty - Diverse Learning (English as an Additional Language/Dialect & Literacies), commencing Monday, 19 January 2026.
This Middle Leadership role is responsible for the leadership of the EAL/D program within the Diverse Learning Faculty. The AHOF DL – EAL/D&L works collaboratively with College staff to ensure that the learning needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students are met, as well as the needs of students with an identified literacy need. This includes students whose first language/languages spoken at home is a language or dialect other than English and who require further support to assist in the development of English language proficiency, including international students, students whose first language is English, and students who are identified as having barriers to their learning specifically in literacy. This role has a focus on ensuring that Literacy across curricular is accessible for all students.
The role holder will collaborate regularly with the Head of Diverse Learning, College Heads of Learning, the International Students Coordinator and classroom teachers. As a function of this role, it will be essential to establish and/or refine College processes to support the diverse range of students at varying stages of English language proficiency, under the guidance of the Head of Diverse Learning.
All applicants must hold a current Queensland Teacher Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
