About the Role
We're looking for a capable, proactive, organised and detail oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team. This Full-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced and commercially focused environment
Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will support the Finance team with reconciliation, accruals and statutory reporting, month and year end financial systems roll over, along with back up support for accounts payable and receivable functions to support the smooth operation of the financial process and compliance with internal policies and external obligations.
What You'll Be Doing (but not limited to)
* Perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
* Oversee month-end administrative processes across Tolling and Corporate finance systems.
* Provide assistance and financial data to support external audit activities.
* Prepare and lodge accurate Business Activity Statements (BAS) in accordance with statutory deadlines.
* Complete and submit quarterly Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) surveys, including Business Indicators and Capital Expenditure.
* Maintain documentation for Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and assist in the preparation of the annual FBT return.
* Provide back up for AP and AR functions
The ideal candidate will have
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, and working towards becoming a Certified Practicing Accountant
* A minimum of 2-years' experience in an accounting role, ideally with exposure to month end and reconciliations in a high volume, low value environment.
* Technical Proficiency in Microsoft and TechnologyOne (preferred), and a willingness to learn new systems.
