Our Advisory Division partners with growth-focused building and construction businesses that want more than compliance. They want commercial clarity, stronger margins, better cashflow and confident decisions. We are looking for a Client Director to lead that work.
The Role
You will operate as a fractional CFO and strategic partner to growth-stage business owners, with genuine ownership of a defined client portfolio and accountability for commercial outcomes.
Your work directly shapes the growth trajectory of the businesses you advise. Most business owners know roughly where they want to go. The gap between their current path and what is genuinely possible is where you operate. You will lead discussions around funding strategy, pricing, margin, working capital and capital investment, challenge assumptions and be the person clients rely on when decisions matter.
Your Responsibilities
* Own and lead a defined portfolio of advisory clients across the building and construction sector
* Act as the primary commercial adviser to business owners and their leadership teams
* Lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow strategy that shapes business direction, not just reporting
* Guide clients through funding conversations, lender negotiations and capital planning
* Facilitate structured reviews that track client progress against their growth plan and keep leadership teams accountable to it
* Ensure every advisory engagement delivers measurable improvement in profitability and cashflow
* Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the division
What You Will Bring
* 7+ years in business services, commercial finance, advisory or CFO-level environments
* Proven experience leading relationships with business owners and senior decision-makers
* Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge constructively
* Experience delivering integrated forecasting, cashflow strategy and performance reviews
* A track record of managing and growing a client portfolio
* Experience mentoring and developing team members
Highly Regarded
* Experience within the building and construction industry
* Experience as an Advisor in a professional services setting
* Exposure to funding negotiations, bank engagement or capital strategy
* Prior leadership of an advisory or consulting team
