Hedland Senior High School (SHS), located in the Pilbara, is an Independent Public-School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12. The Role
This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, relationship-focused and passionate about creating exciting learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn for all students.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop high level teaching skills in a supportive environment in order to significantly improve the future of students at educational risk. You will ideally be a Teacher who aspires for academic excellence and is committed to high quality teaching and learning. Professional knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practice and supporting students' social and emotional wellbeing is preferred. A sound understanding of The Western Australian Curriculum and the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework will be critical to this role.
You will develop authentic and rich learning tasks, work with students to develop goals, apply a range of instruction and explicit teaching incorporating current and emerging technologies to meet the needs of our students. Our team displays a commitment to excellence and can establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment using a restorative approach that focuses on responsibility, building resilience and self-confidence.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Hedland Senior High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $4 677 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment. The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
