Assistant Program Manager – The Haven Day Centre

Part-time, 12 hours per week (2 days), with potential to increase

The Haven Day Centre is a not-for-profit charity that has been providing respite and support for people living with memory loss and dementia - and their carers – since 1986. We create a warm, welcoming, Christian-based environment where clients can enjoy meaningful activities, companionship, and meals, while giving carers much-needed respite.
We are now seeking an Assistant Program Manager to join our dedicated team.
About the Role
Working closely with the Program Manager, you will help oversee the daily running of our centre-based respite program. This includes:
* Supporting the delivery of engaging activities and outings for clients.
* Overseeing the coordination of our dementia-inclusive choir (
Rewire-The Haven Choir
), including liaising with the music therapist and managing communications.
* Assisting with newsletters, surveys, grant applications, and risk management processes.
* Helping prepare and monitor goal-directed care plans.
* Supervising and supporting staff, volunteers, and students.
* Stepping in during Program Manager leave to ensure continuity of services.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving quality of life for people living with dementia and their carers, and who brings:
* Tertiary qualifications in aged care, community services, or a related field (preferred).
* Knowledge of dementia and the aged care sector (preferred).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, carers, staff, and volunteers.
* Proven organisational and administrative skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* A commitment to confidentiality, compassion, and The Haven's values.
* A current First Aid certificate, National Police Check (or willingness to obtain), and eligibility for aged care worker screening.
