The Polish Club Milton is looking for a Cook and Kitchen Hand (2 separate roles) for our restaurant kitchen team. We pride ourselves on being the only full-time operating Polish restaurant in Queensland and our mission is to showcase Polish culture and customs through our hospitality offerings. We are seeking candidates who are available on a casual \"as-needed\" or roster basis, preferably for an immediate start. We currently open Wednesday through to and including Saturday, from 11am until 9pm. We need someone who can commit at least 15 hours per week. Australian work rights are required for this role - we are not in a position to offer sponsorship.
Duties include:
* Meal preparation and service for restaurant and catering operations, with an emphasis on Polish cuisine and cooking techniques;
* Bulk cooking in accordance with recipes;
* Cleaning, washing up, and organisation of kitchen and food storage areas;
* Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety; and
* Managing inventory, preparing orders, and reviewing and unpacking deliveries.
The Cook is also responsible for:
* Supporting the Head Cook in leading kitchen operations to ensure smooth and consistent service and high quality;
* Assisting in menu design and recipe development;
* Supervision of junior kitchen staff and volunteers; and
* Collaborating with leadership to shape Polonia's kitchen culture and implement effective processes and systems.

Key considerations:
* Experience in cooking Polish or Eastern European cuisine will be highly regarded but is not essential. Training will be provided - willingness to learn is essential.
* Polish language skills will be highly regarded but are not essential.
* Small team environment of up to 5 staff/volunteers.
* Pay will be based on skills and experience and will be in line with pay rates set by the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award.
